Baby boy (likes Oliver, but not Oliver)

Boy.
I like Oliver, Jude and Milo but those are way too trendy. I really love Oliver but I suspect it's too popular (I live near SanFran). I hate realizing that my taste run toward urban intellectual. I don't want a trendy, popular name but classic names are boring (to me). What is good middle ground? I like names that can shorten to a cute nickname. Also, cannot start with B or M, last name starts with M. Thanks in advance!

If you love Oliver, you might want to use it and pair it with an untraditional middle name that you could use as a first name, or using it as a middle name that he can go by.

Hip names that are classic but uncommon are great and it's smart to stay away from trendy names. The trick is finding a good name that doesn't sound weird. But if it stands out there's a chance no matter how awesome that kids will try to pick on it. The key is finding a name with no bad rhyming possibilities.

The first name that popped to mind with German roots that is similar to Emma is Gretta, though it's not a K or C name, it is fantastic. Gretta Elizabeth Siefert is beautiful and a cool nickname could be Etta.
What about Camille Elizabeth and calling her Millie? or Camilla Elizabeth and calling her Mila (pronounced mee-la) as a nickname? Camilla is the Swedish version of Camille.

Nellesen names

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out boy and girl names that sound best with the surname Nellesen. I like Ingrid Elizabeth Nellesen for a girl but my husband does not. I also like Sean, Charlie and Justin for a boy, but my husband isn't sure... What do you recommend?

Maybe instead of Ingrid, go for a similar name in style but a little more girly, like Gretta. Would you and your husband be open to European names?
Alternatives to Sean, Charlie and Justin... you could go old-school, really old-school with a name like Seamus/Shaymus. A name like Maxwell is also an old American name and has much of the same feel as Charlie, but more unused.
